As part of RE, Year One took part in an Easter workshop where they listened intently to a retelling of the Easter story. They were then given the opportunity to explore the events and the significance of this story for Christians, through a variety of multi-sensory activities. These included: making the Easter garden using recyclable materials, drawing words and symbols linked to the Easter story onto eggs, retelling the Easter story using the sand mat and props as well as having the opportunity to read the Easter story for themselves. The children were given the opportunity to share their thoughts and feelings throughout the session and it was lovely to listen to them expressing their understanding of this story and watching everyone participating whole heartedly in the range of activities provided. We would like to wish our Christian friends a very happy Easter.
