This term our topic is based on Travel and Flight. This is a History based topic. We will be focussing on the text ‘Man on the Moon (a day in the life of Bob)’ by Simon Bartram. There are a series of these books which we will also be reading.
In English, the children will be writing poetry, newspaper reports and biographies. Our English will be linked with History as we will be learning about Neil Armstrong and making comparisons between him and Christopher Columbus.
On June 27th we are lucky enough to have a ‘Rocket Workshop’ which we are really looking forward to.
In Maths, the children will be revisiting areas that they have already covered during the year. We will be going into further depth for these areas.
In P.E. we will be using the outside space as much as the weather allows! Please make sure that your childhasasunhatinschool. Youmayalsowishtoprovidetrainers, foradditionalgriponthe playground. The children will be participating in Athletics, in preparation for Sports Day. Please note, that both classes have P.E. on Mondays and Wednesdays.
All areas to be covered for the term can be found on the topic web.
We would like to take this opportunity to remind you that, in preparation for Year 3, we would like the children to come into the class for EMT on their own, in this final term. This will make the transition into Key Stage 2, easier for your child where they are expected to enter the classroom and organise themselves. We hope you understand. Please rest assured that we are still available for you to talk to us, if you have any issues you would like to discuss.
