Term 5: Castles. Storytime & Planting

Term 4 was packed with fun activities and very busy. The children enjoyed, dressing up for our Superhero Day, a visit from the Fire Engine, and an Easter Egg hunt.

We also successfully took part in the Infant Music Festival joining with other schools and preschools dressing up and singing a variety of fun travelling songs.

This term the topics are ‘Castles, Storytelling & Planting.’ During our Castles and Storytelling topics, the children will be involved in lots of role playing and storytelling activities. When we do our Planting topic, we hope to involve the children in planting and caring for a variety of flowering plants as well as the vegetables. We will be doing a lot of our learning outside this term so please ensure that your child has wellies in school.

Brook Field School sponsor a child in Thailand and the money we raise helps to keep him at school. Each class holds one event throughout the year to raise money and we are going to hold a sponsored walk as our contribution. Details of this will follow. We shall be asking for parents to volunteer to assist our children in walking around Peatmoor Lake.

PE will remain on a Tuesday and Thursday.

Please may we remind you that the children’s water bottles for the classroom should only have water in them and not juice. We also ask that children do not bring their own toys into school as this can cause upset if they are lost or broken. Please ensure that all snack boxes, water bottles and clothing are named. They may also need sun cream as the weather improves so please apply this before school and then your child can apply more if needed throughout the day.
