We hope you have had an enjoyable Christmas holiday with your family and friends.
Hold on tight as we use a 'time machine' to head back in time to 1666! This term we will be inquiring and exploring The Great Fire of London through Art, History, DT, English and Maths. We will be reading and comparing fiction and non-fiction texts. In English, we will be asking and writing questions about The Great Fire of London. We will be going on an exciting trip to the Westlea Fire Station on 20th of January; more details to follow. We will write a recount about our day at the fire station in English using temporal connectives. In Maths, we will be learning about the value of coins and using addition and subtraction to work with money. We will also be exploring 2D and 3D shape and their properties. In DT, we will use tools and equipment to make bread for King Charles II. In Art we will be using charcoal and graded pencils to sketch Tudor Houses using our knowledge about line and tone. In Computing we will be furthering our understanding of E-safety by using the internet to research The Great Fire of London. We will also be learning how to send and receive emails safely.
A friendly reminder to please continue to change your child's book from the corridor as necessary. We will continue to change the book in your child's green wallet as necessary.
Please ensure all PE kits, snack pots, water bottles, coats, jumpers and cardigans are labelled with your child's first and last name.
Mrs Woolrich's class assembly will be the 27th of January.
