Hop alongside Paddington Bear on an amazing train journey through the United Kingdom. In Term 2 we will be learning about the United Kingdom by using maps, atlases and globes. In English we will be writing short narratives using the story of Paddington Bear to assist us in our writing. We will continue to listen to a wide range of poems and stories, especially ones written by our author focus, Michael Bond. In Maths we will continue to develop our addition and subtraction strategies while also learning about time. DT this term will be delicious when we make our very own healthy snack for Paddington Bear. Our class has 2 Golden Apples from the School Council for bringing in healthy snacks as a class; we are hoping to achieve another apple! We will be using Computing to support our English by using technology to create a firework poem and compose a menu for Paddington Bear. Through this, we will learn how to move images and text on a screen. In RE we will be learning about the story of Christmas and why Jesus is special to Christians. We will then learn about pattern through printing and will make Christmas cards with repeating patterns.
A friendly reminder to please ensure all snack pots, water bottles and jumpers are labelled with your child’s name. If you have any questions, please feel free to come and visit us in Year 1.
