Learning Behaviours

Teaching & Learning at Brook Field

As part of our ongoing drive to provide our children with the best possible learning opportunities we would like to introduce our new approach in developing children’s learning behaviours.

Learning Behaviours have always been central to our teaching, as you can see from our curriculum statement on the website. However, we feel that now the 2014 National Curriculum and new assessment procedures have been embedded; this is the best time to make learning behaviours more explicit to the children, school community and parents alike.

See below for the learning behaviours and associated images that will aid the children in remembering them:

During our Teacher Training day in September, time was given to the discussion of different learning behaviours and great efforts have been made to ensure a consistent approach across the whole school, which is linked to our whole school values. Individual year groups will introduce learning behaviours when appropriate to their year group and cohort. This may include stickers being given to the child or being placed in their work books. We hope that you will be able to support us by asking your child about them.
